It’s always Autumn in England

My last post got cut short, because we were leaving for the day with Evan’s family to go and visit a family friend.

My brother Sam is the only reason I go and watch Lapel Football games on a Friday night. I miss most of what is happening, because I constantly look for number 10 and watch whatever he is doing. Last night, he was by far the star of the game!!

In the 4th quarter, he made an amazing interception and took off running and made a touch down!! One of his team mates, I think they said his name was Mica, took out one of the Frankton players and just made a clear path for Sam to keep going, and go he did! I heard lots of comments about how fast Sam can run. I was very excited and so glad that I got to watch him make such a good play. GO SAM!!!

After writing my post, I found this link on my sisters blog. I am glad that my idea of what happened, was correct!

Saturday we got to hang out with my dad and brother, we had loads of fun swimming and just hanging out. We played on the Wii and watched a movie too.

Today we got to see our friends Craig & Kelly and Tim & Angie and all their kids too. Again, lots of fun and more playing on the Wii.

Now we are waiting on a friend who happens to be driving through Lafayette on his way to TN. Brad is going to stop by and maybe even spend the night. He just called and is nearly here, so I better go.

We are heading to Northampton this weekend. Will be a good weekend, but tough too because we will be saying goodbye to lots of friends and to my sister and her family as well.

Our selling on ebay is going well. Sold one more item today and they collected it within 2 hours of selling! The house is getting emptier and yet messier by the day.

Our movers/shippers come on the 26th or 27th I can’t remember which day.
Our landlord is coming to inspect the house some time in the next week or so.
We will vacate the house on the 30th June or 1st July and spend a couple nights with a girl I work with.

I think that is it for now. See you in a few hours Angela!

I am leaving in the next 15 minutes to go and pick Evan up from the airport. The house is clean (or as clean as it needs to be!!) and I have dinner in the fridge ready to cook. So tonight we can simply relax and chat and catch up on the last week. I have talked to him while he has been in America, but it is never quite the same. I am glad he will be home in 2 hours time!

This week is going to be cram packed full of fun and decision making.

1) Evan’s parents arrived yesterday

2) Today we have a shipping company coming to give us a quote

3) Friday we have a financial advisor company calling to give us advice about managing our finances as we immigrate

4) Angela and Graham return to England this week, so we will  have to catch up!!

5) Evan might fly back with his parents and take the cats over now…we need to decide

Evan’s parents booked a last minute trip to come and see us before we move. They arrive tomorrow at 7:20am…so we have an early morning. This weekend I have spent at least 4-6 hours sitting at my computer scanning in old pictures…taken before the days of digital camera’s. We have a whole book shelf of photo albums, before we move, I intend to have 1…ONE…picture album. Everything else will be digital!! YEAH!!

On another note, the weather has been PERFECT this weekend. 67-72 degrees most days, sunny, clear skies, B.E.A.Utiful!!! I am loving this weather.

Last night I woke up around 1am to an earthquake going on. At first I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming, so after the shaking had stopped for a minute or so I asked Evan if he was awake and he said yes. Then I asked, ‘Did you feel that?’ and again he said ‘yes’, followed by, ’was that an earthquake?’ I replied with, I think so. LOL We both were laying there wondering if we had dreamed it or not. As soon as we got up this morning, we got online to find out about it. Here is the best I could find so far this morning.

Then I told him there had been an earthquake in/around 1989 in England, that was the only other one I can remember.

Within minutes I was back asleep, but I thought that people in America might be worried about us, so this way my family can reassure them that we are absolutely fine!
