Kaiden Update: They retested Kaiden for RSV…he has CLEARED… :) However, he is still on the vent…and their hope is for him to come off hopefully by Monday. We will see… will keep you all updated. Thank you all for your prayers and support. :) ♥ We love and appreciate you all.

Kaiden

Evan’s cousin and her husband had a baby boy. Jennifer gave birth 12 weeks early, when her waters broke, they did an emergency cesarean. I don’t know all the details of what happened, because I got it third hand, but he was born on July 29th at 28 weeks and 4 days.

Since his birth, I have kept in touch with Jennifer on Facebook, so I feel a little more in the know. Kaiden was able to go home after several weeks in the NICU, but yesterday he had to be admitted to the hosptial. He tested positive for RSV, and has been put on a ventilator and is being sedated to help him rest. There is not much more they can do medically, because he has to fight the virus off. He is receiving breathing treatments a few times a day. Please be praying for Kaiden and his parents, Jennifer and Brian.

Cool stuff

Filed under: Thoughts, Family, Fun Stuff

Ok, so when I said watch out for change on here, I didn’t mean that I was going to suddenly disapear. However, that is what I did…but maybe I’ll be back more regularly now that my life is settling back into more of a routine.

My mom’s fiance sent me this link this morning, saying it was Sam’s interview with Fox 59!!! Seriously??? Wow, I had no idea my kid brother was going to be on TV. At least I got to watch it online, and now you can too. :)

Ok, moving on from my bragging…I could upload all the links of when he is in the local paper, but I won’t do that to you. I’ll leave that to my sister.

Now, back to what I said before…about change…well, I finally figured out how to personalise and fix the coding on Blogsome so that I can design my own template. I asked Evan if he could help me, and he said yes. So, I posted it on my blog….then, Evan got like 4 jobs for his consulting business and now suddenly, being paid to design logos and websites for people is more important than doing a free one for his wife. Oh well, I don’t complain at spending the money, so I guess my template can wait for now. But…it will come one day, so just wait patiently with me for it!

On to other stuff. I am finally harvesting veggies from our garden. Not too many, but we didn’t plant all that much. We planted really late in the season, so we were not sure we would even get anything. However, we have had at least a couple peppers per week and about 5 or 6 cucumbers off of 1 plant this week, and lots of tomatoes from our 3 plants. So, really not too bad for a very late planting of only about 8 plants total.

Well, I need to get to work, and then off to the Lapel Football game again tonight.

Lapel Bulldogs

Last night was the first game of the season for the Lapel Bulldogs. This year, my brother is a senior and playing Quarter Back and Safety. The Herald Bulletin ran a story on their WIN last night!

I am excited for this football season. I understand a lot more than I did last year, so the plays actually make some sense to me now and makes the games more enjoyable. However, the weather last night couldn’t have been worse for this early in the season. During the second quarter is starting raining, but by half-time is was pouring with rain. The weather has said a 30% chance of scattered showers. We were prepared for that, not for driving rain for more than half the game. Yuck, we were soaked, and I was very glad to get home and into dry clothes.

Jacob

Abigail had her first seizure when she was 3. Jacob will be three next month.

Last night, almost the exact same time of night, I got a call that Jacob had a seizure and was being taken to hospital. If you want to read about it, check out my sisters blog here: http://richardsresidence.blogsome.com/

Please be praying for them all right now.

waiting even longer

we got the appraiser report on Friday and the loan is approved. However, the lender has asked for more details from the appraiser. So, it has gone back to them and we wait some more.

However, I don’t mind waiting. There is going to be lots of painting once we get the house. Plus, the longer we wait, the more $$ we save…which is always a good thing!

On another note. My neice is really sick. She has pneumonia and an ear infection in both ears. Not fun.

Another Car post

If you read my post the other day about all the things that have happened regarding my car since moving here, I wanted to update.

Friday, I left work to meet my sister just a few minutes away at a pet store to pick up her new puppy. She is borrowing my cage for a few weeks to get the puppy settled. She had her two kids and the cat, so I was meeting her and then driving the dog to her house. About halfway to meeting my sister, I got rear-ended at a stop light. The guy behind me thought I was going, but really I was just inching forward so I could see traffic better.

There wasn’t any damage on the bumber, so I got back in the car to leave…and it wouldn’t start. I called my sister to tell her I would be late and started crying. Now, stuff like this doesn’t normally bother me, but with everything that has happened since moving to America, it was just one thing too many. Thankfully, I called AAA and they arrived within 30 minutes and it was just a loose cable on the battery, so the car started right up again and by the time I got to PetLand, Angela was just finishing up the paperwork and ready to go.

Christmas 08

This Christmas was the first time in many years that me and my 3 siblings were all together for the holidays. We had so much fun hanging out and goofing off. As soon as Angela sent me these pictures, I knew I had to do a layout. This is the first time in almost a year I have sat down and done any scrapbooking. Early in 2008, Evan and I decided to move from England to America, and scrapbooking was one of the first things I stopped doing to start the moving process. It feels good to get back into the creative swing. However, I am sharing this layout even without knowing if I am 100% done with it. So, I might have to go back and play with it some more!

Going Solo

Filed under: Thoughts, Family, Costa Rica

I had several people ask me about going to Costa Rica yesterday. Several people also asked me about the blog I set up at blogspot. I guess I didn’t realise people were actually reading it, so I shut it down.

It was called "The Overbay’s Adventure" but since Evan ditched me, and I am now going on my own, I figured it wasn’t really the "Overbay’s" adventure, so much as my own, and I already have a blog! So, anything you want to know about my trip to Costa Rica, find out right here!!

The countdown is on though. I leave in 15 days! I still need people to pray for me each day that I am gone. So, if you are willing to pray for me please let me know. I believe having people praying for me every day is really important. I have posted on this before…See the final paragraph of that post. If you want more evidence of this see Ephesians 6:10-19. This passage is known as the Armour of God, but it says, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." and therefore…Put on the Full Armour of God.
It then goes on to say, "Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

That is one of the things I would ask you to pray for me while I am in Costa Rica…that everything I say and do would make Christ known. That I would show his love to everyone I come in to contact with that week. That is what this trip is all about. Yes it is work, yes I will help build a few houses, but mostly, I want to show Christ to everyone I see.
