New House. Now a new car?

We got the keys to the house yesterday! We spent an hour or so walking around, looking at everything we want to do and where to start. We noticed now that the house is empty, that there are literally HUNDREDS of screws in the walls from where they had stuff hung up. So, the plan formed that I would start removing screws and filling holes while Evan paints the ceiling. We want to have those two things done, so that this weekend, when several friends/family come, we can be painting walls.

However, that plan slightly changed this morning, when Evan started his truck to head over to start working on the ceiling, and his truck started gushing fluid. I was really still half asleep, but I think he said it was the water pump? His dad said it might just be a hose…I hope so, because otherwise it means a new truck.

So, I quickly got my pro-active head on, and said, well, we can just clean the carpet and duct work and move in. Spend the money we would use on paint and flooring to put a deposit on a new truck and then just do the work month by month while we live there. Not as simple, and I really don’t want to live with the paint or carpet that is there, but it would be possible.

Anyway, that is where we stand. The truck will go in tomorrow morning, and they are usually pretty good about looking at it early and telling us what needs done by noon. We will wait and see.
