Home Owners

As of 6:30pm, we are home owners. There were several delays at the Title Company…but we managed to get through them. Our realtor arrived there at 2:30pm, I arrived around 3, Evan around 4pm and our mortgage broker around 5pm. We started signing paperwork at 5:30 or a little after and finished around 6:10pm.

Our realtor has been a huge blessing and a trouper. She never once got worried (except when she needed to be), and has always been a calm voice of patience and reason despite all of the delays.

The sellers will close tomorrow on the house they are purchasing, and said they have Friday booked off of work to move and hope to be out by Sunday at the latest.

We are thrilled! Both with the house, and the fact that the buying process is over. However, the funnest part of buying a house is looking…and I already miss that. But, one of my single friends said she is thinking of buying, and I offered to help her house hunt because she said she didn’t enjoy it and since I love it, I will accompany her as much as possible! I can’t wait.

closing soon

We should be closing on the house this week. We have a day & time scheduled, I will let you all know when it actually goes through and we have a house. I’m kinda tired of saying it will happen, and then it doesn’t, so I’m gonna wait this time.

This weekend we saw some good friends and celebrated their son’s 1st Birthday and got to hang out for the evening. It was fun, we don’t get to see them as much as we would like.

I am pretty tired, and today I have been a little restless. I don’t really have a lot to do, and am ready to have my own space again where I have stuff to do.

waiting even longer

we got the appraiser report on Friday and the loan is approved. However, the lender has asked for more details from the appraiser. So, it has gone back to them and we wait some more.

However, I don’t mind waiting. There is going to be lots of painting once we get the house. Plus, the longer we wait, the more $$ we save…which is always a good thing!

On another note. My neice is really sick. She has pneumonia and an ear infection in both ears. Not fun.

Still waiting

Well, we didn’t close this morning. The appraisal took a lot longer to come through than expected, and the paperwork just did not get through on time.

The plan is we should hear something this afternoon from the underwriters, which will help determine when we will actually close. There is a possibility we will close tomorrow afternoon, but I am guessing it will be Monday, maybe even Tuesday.

Busy week

The countdown is on this week.

Tuesday we are doing a walkthrough of the house we are buying. This way we can make sure things are cleared out before we close.

Thursday morning is the time set for actually closing on the house. The sellers have asked for 2 weeks for posession, but hope to be out by Thursday. I am sure we will see on Tuesday what progress they have made, but we will find out for sure on Thursday if we get immediate posession or not.

Last Saturday, I used my birthday gift certificate and went and had a massage. It was great at the time, but every day since then I have had a headache. I think that the massage must have just touched the surface of the tension in my shoulders, and I need another one.

Friday I ended up with a migrane that hit me very quickly while I was at work. Thankfully, I had a migrane tablet with me and when I take those, usually the pain is gone within 15-20 minutes. However, it always leaves me in a daze, or what I have nicknamed a "migrane hangover". Saturday I felt like I had the flu with aches and pains, and today I don’t feel a whole lot better. But, the headache has receeded to just a dull ache, and more in my neck and shoulders now again.

I am hoping that this is just a combination of the "stress" that comes with buying a house. We got our very first housewarming present at church today from one of Evan’s co-workers. He gave us our very first bale of hay! We also got 2 paintbrushes and some newspaper to "get us started" he said! It was cute and fun, so I loved it!

Well, I have been thinking of taking a nap for the last 2 hours…so I think I am going to head downstairs and see if House is on. If it’s not, then I will turn on a DVD of Cold Feet.
