Finished

I finished the Harry Potter book early this morning. I read till almost 2am and woke just after 7am and decided to stay awake and finish it. It was good. Now I keep thinking that I should be reading it, but realise I have finished it.

Our friend Pete and Anya are here this weekend and we just finished a full day of activities with them. We hiked Bronte Waterfall (pictures to come) then went to Haworth, stopped by Mercy so they could see the house, went to Skipton to see the town and walked along the canal, then came back home and went to our local waterfall and park and threw Evan’s Nerf Football.

I am exhausted. We are thinking dinner and a movie tonight! Church and lunch tomorrow morning and then they will head home. It’s been really nice visiting so far!

Book Sharing

I’m halfway through the final Harry Potter book, it’s really good. We only have one copy and Evan and I are trying to share it…it’s not good.

Only a half day tomorrow and then the weekend! Yeah.

8 months later

8 months after moving in to our house, Evan and I are finally hanging up some of our pictures, mirrors, clocks and putting out some photos and decorations. I don’t know why it has taken us so long, because this has felt like ‘home’ for a long time, but now it is beginning to look more comfortable and lived in.

We have friends coming up on Friday night for the weekend, which will be fun. We are hoping it doesn’t rain and we can go hiking. But, I have pretty much decided if it does rain then we can go to the Trafford Centre in Manchester, so I guess if it does rain, we will have fun anyway!

Today is the first day in many weeks, at least 3, that it has not rained all day. The sun was shining from 7am until now at 8:45pm. It has been wonderful, it almost feels like summer now!

I started reading the new Harry Potter book this evening. Within 3 pages, someone was dead already!

Time with Family & Friends

We had a lovely weekend. Went to Northampton to see my sister and her family. My nephew turned 1 so we celebrated with them. We also go to see some good friends that are moving back to South Africa at the end of the summer, so that was probably the last time we will see them.

Found out that some good friends are getting married next year in Denmark, and we are invited! That will be lots of fun and we might make a nice holiday out of it as well!

Weekend

Shopped today and bought some much needed clothes for work…very business like and grown up. Can’t decide if I prefer it to my jeans and tshirt uniforms I have always had in the past!

I like pictures and I never feel like I take enough, but here are some more to add to the ones I posted the other day!

Harry Potter

Evan and  I have been on a Harry Potter Marathon this week in preparation for the release of the new movie and book this month.
We have watched a movie each night this week, so when I saw this quiz on a friends blog, I had to take it too!

Home Sick, Books

I stayed home from work today, sick. I hate being sick, but even more, I hate the moment when you have to call in sick to work. It makes it worse when I love my job and I know how much work there is to do. I usually struggle to get it done in my 3 days. But, no one answered the phone when I called, so I texted my friend (and my manager) Jo to let her know. Texting is way easier, but at least if I had talked to her on the phone she would hear my raspy and nasaly voice. I went back to bed at 7am (woke up at 6:30) and slept for 3 more hours. Now I am drinking a red bush tea and then going back to bed.

Anyway, books…I love reading and usually have a list of books to read, but at the moment I am struggling. I need to go to the library and find something new. Today on a crafting blog that I read I saw a link for a site called Good Reads and since I like to read, signed up.

If you like to read, it might be worth while, at least you can look back on what you have read over time! Or maybe you can find a book that a friend has read and get some new inspiration.

Trafford Centre

We spent the day today at The Trafford Centre and really enjoyed it. Evan and I will certainly have to go back. I looked it up online and it is within the top 3 biggest shopping malls in the UK, possibly in Europe. There are some disagreements as to which is the biggest, based on square footage verses number of units that can be rented etc. The others in competition are BlueWater in Kent and MetroCentre somewhere else. The largest in Europe is one in Turkey.

I decided I had to post this before I went to bed because I really wanted it to be dated 07-07-07!!

Weekend

I’ve worked 12 days on the go, so I am pretty tired. I need to finish a book for work called Finding favor with the King, it is excellent. If you are looking for a book that is easy to read, but will inspire your relationship with God, get this book and read it. It is based on the book of Esther and how she found favor with the Persian King and how in comparison we can find favor with the Most High King.

Tomorrow I am heading to Trafford Center. I have never been there, but I am meeting a friend from High School that I have only seen half a dozen times since 2000. Should be lots of fun. She is getting married in August, but unfortunately I can’t attend the wedding, so we decided to get together instead.

But for now, it is off to BED! I am looking forward to a good 9 or 10 hours of sleep tonight!
