Yesterday, the 9th January, was our 3rd wedding anniversary.  When I got home from work, I found these laying on my bed.

Evan had also booked a surprise dinner at a restaraunt in Skipton. It was lovely to go out and be spoiled and have a nice meal, when I thought we were going to stay in. We hadn’t really planned anything because we have just been so busy with moving, visiting America, Evan looking for a new job and me starting a new job.

I recently rediscovered Freecycle since moving up here. My sister, Angela reminded me of it a few weeks ago. I really did not think that I would get anything out of it, but the other day someone advertised a dining room table and chairs. I emailed them to ask if we could come and see it. I totally expected it to be an old, misused, grubby table. Instead, what did we find? A beautiful mahogany table that seats at least 8 people. The chairs are comfortable and covered in a lovely red & cream stripe. Here is a picture of that too!

Thirdly, the great thing about renting, instead of owning a house is that any time you need work done, someone else does it for you and also pays for it. So the gate on our back fence has been broken for a couple weeks and we kept meaning to mention it to our landlord, but it was not causing any problems, so we didn’t get around to it…then today, while writing this blog, I heard a hammering sound. I looked out the window to see the lovely man fixing our gate!
