It’s always Autumn in England

We had a great visit with Evan’s family here the last week.  We spent 3 days in Paris, and had a fantastic time.  I don’t think any of us had ever walked so much in 3 days!  We saw just about everything on our list and a few things we added at the last minute.  In the next few days I will add some more pictures, but for now it is back to work for Evan and I.  We enjoyed having a few days off to spend with his family.

When we arrived at the Tower it was light, by the time we got back down it was dark!

Today I attended the Official Opening of the first UK Mercy Ministries Home, in Bradford, West Yorkshire.  I drove 3 hours there and three hours home, but it was definately worth it.  The house is beautiful and Nany Alcorn, the founder came from America to Open the home.  They will start taking on girls in July of this year.  I am so excited that Mercy is working here in the UK.  I still hope that one day I will be working more closely with Mercy.  I am going to put a couple of pictures on here that I took today, but for more info go to the website: www.mercyministries.co.uk

For those of you that are interested, they still need lots of practical items for the house and will accept gift certificates from Argos or Ikea.  They also have a gift list at Argos:  www.argos.co.uk and their list number is 399655.

Bedroom This is one of the bedrooms.  Each room has two beds, and they can house up to 8 girls.
View from House This is the view from one of the bedrooms. The building out back, will be a workshop area for the girls to be able to use.

I had my first day back at work yesterday and it was a long day.  13 hours seemed to stretch a rather long time.  But, I had today off and I have relaxed, done some gardening, organised a little bit more for Mug for Mercy on Sunday, washed dishes and caught up on some emails.  Mostly a productive day.

I think though, that having a big garden in our first house is going to be the end of Evan and I ever having a house with a big yard again.  It just seems that no matter how hard we work in our yard, it always seems to need more work.  If it was mine, I think I would dig up most of the bushes and trees that are in it and put grass right up to the edge of the fence.  I would have two small boarder of flowers and they would be around the two side of my patio.  Much easier to deal with than what I have right now.

I decided to put pictures from our trip to Spain on our website, because it takes a lot longer to resize pictures to go on this blog.

Enjoy!  http://homepage.ntlworld.com/overbay/html/peniscola__spain_0.html

We made it back safe and sound from Spain and are slowly settling back into our daily routines.  We have spent all of our friday evening putting the finishing touches on our spare room (we bought several things in Spain for the room) and swapping MP3’s with Craig…thanks for the music!

Tomorrow morning Angela and I are heading to our first Car Boot (yard sale) of the year and I cannot wait.  I am hoping to find a great deal that I cannot pass up!  I will let you know the outcome and I will also try to get around to posting some pictures of our time in Spain!
