Job

Well, I did not get the job I interviewed for yesterday. I did not feel like the interview went fantastically, so I was not surprised in many ways. I did send an application form off yesterday, and I also wrote to get some information on two more jobs this afternoon.

Samuel arrives late tonight, and I am coming home early from work tomorrow so that I can spend some time with Samuel!

Interview

I do not really have time to give a full update tonight.  I am really tired and have to get up early for work tomorrow.  But, I had my interview today and it went ok.  They are phoning this week to let me know either way.  But, just in case I do not get this one, I sent off an application form for another job in Milton Keynes.
I know eventually God will put me in the job he wants me to be in…and it could be that I am reading things wrong and I need to stay in my current job for a little longer.  I would just really like to work more regular hours than I do at the moment.

Monday night is my first night shift, and I am dreading it.

Sam arrives tomorrow, and I can not wait to see him!

New Layout

I have the day off today and I have lots to do, but I thought before I got down to cleaning the house, food shopping and running errands, I would take a little while to do something I enjoy.  Here is the latest LO from my new hobby of digital scrapbooking.

Digital Scrapbooking

I talked to a friend the other day who does digital scrapbooking with Photoshop, rather than paper and scissors scrapbooking like I do.  I decided to give it a go and see how I got on with it.  I did two LO (layouts) today and was very pleased with how quick they went.  I kept them pretty basic, because it is the first time doing this.  I am sure that adding embellishments and such will come quickly!  Here they are.

Sick

I spent my day off yesterday in the bathroom either on the toilet or being sick into it.  Not a fun way to spend your day off.  I called in sick last night for today because I couldn’t eat most of the day and still felt quite tired.  Today, I at least am not throwing up, but I have this whopping headache.  I hate being ill.

In other news, I did not get the job at World Vision, but I do not mind too much. I am hoping to apply for a different job at St Andrews that would mean I work 9-5 each day. That suits me much better. But, I am having trouble getting details on the job, so that may not work out.

I keep praying that God will lead me where He wants me to be, and keep applying for jobs.  I talked to a friend the other day about the job thing, because I feel like I have not kept with a job for very long in the last few years.  She pointed out that it may be God’s way of teaching me new skills and helping me prepare for something later on.  It was comforting to hear those words from someone I respect as a woman of God.

Decorating

Here are the before pictures:

And here are the pictures of in the middle of decorating.

Now we just need to add the finishing touches of pictures, rearranging furniture and painting the stripes white. I am also buying some white shelves to go in the room.

Day Off

Evan and I spent our day off today painting our spare room, getting ready for my brother to come over in a couple weeks.  I have been trying to upload before and after pictures, but for some reason they won’t work.  Hopefully I will be able to add them soon.

New glasses for Evan

For the last several months, I have been reminding Evan that he needs new glasses.  Without them he is nearly blind, and he has not bought new glasses since we got married (over 2 years ago).  So he well overdue new glasses…he squnits when he reads, and he often can not read road signs until he has passed them and it is too late to read them.  But, I was determined that I was not going to make the appointment for him, or buy new glasses for him.
Well, this morning, as he went to put on his glasses one of the ear pieces broke off.  I was still asleep, but when I got up he had emailed me from work and had made an appointment to get his eyes checked for tomorrow.  He is now wearing his even older pair of glasses, but after tomorrow (and about £350) he will have new glasses and be able to see properly again!

Busy Day

Practice for the Sunday School musical went really well tonight for the first time.  I handed out parts to the older children and will prepare shorter lines for the younger children during this week.  We still have a long way to go to be completely ready.  I am just ready to be in Spain laying on the beach for a week, but that is still 5 weeks away.  It won’t get here quick enough for me!

In other news, my friend Anya and I spent several hours today doing crafts.  We try to get together every few weeks and scrapbook, make cards and generally just do some sort of craft stuff.  It is always good to do these things with someone else, because you can use each others items and tools and get new ideas from the other person.

Anya’s fiance and Evan went running while we were doing our craft stuff, which is an added bonus because it means we can craft in solitude.  Evan and Pete are supposedly training for a marathon in October.  Anya and are not holding our breath, but we did say we would go and support them if they make it that far!
